India Visit - Feb, 2008
As part of the ongoing interaction between Airedale Church and India, three members of the church visited Agra and Jaipur in February. This was to continue to growing friendships in Agra and to re-establish relationships in Jaipur.
This was an excellent visit, with each of the three church members able to make valuable but different contributions to the growing relationship in Agra.
Allan spent most of his time painting part of the interior in the latest ‘orphan’ home to be built. This included training one of the School of Service students in the skill of good painting. The sacrificial nature of this act of service was not lost upon the local community.
Much of Jill’s time was taken up with setting up new computers, sorting out existing PCs, and training the local staff in the use of computers. Again this was a very valuable and well appreciated service.
George’s main input was in the teaching of the students in the School of Service. He also preached in the special gospel meetings, and in the local church Sunday gathering.
Home groups and ‘regional’ gatherings were also attended and addressed.
All three members had the great privilege of praying for the sick and seeing many healed, as well as the joy of seeing over 70 people embrace for the first time the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
A few days were spent in Jaipur, where leaders meetings were addressed. It was a great joy to be able to link up Ralph from Agra with Zephry in Jaipur.
