Vision and Mission

Vision

• Our vision is to be a church of influence throughout the Aire valley (hence our name ‘Airedale Church’), reaching from Bingley up to the Yorkshire Dales; for the gospel of Jesus Christ to be made known and for the kingdom of God to advance.

• Our vision is to be a vibrant Christian community of people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, who are deeply in love with God and express this in lives of extravagant and intimate worship to him.

• Our vision is for every person in Airedale Church to understand the fulness of who we are in Christ, to know the Holy Spirit’s equipping for purpose and provision for all aspects of life, expressing this in powerful faith filled lives.

• Our vision is for Airedale Church to function as a body, each member fulfilling their potential and playing their part, so that Christ is fully expressed. It is to be a family where there is depth and security in relationships, expressed through love and service to one another.

• Our vision is for the presence of God to be tangibly amongst us in increasing measure, so that people are drawn to him.

• Our vision is ultimately for Christ to return for his bride, the church, who has made herself ready for Him.

Mission

• We aim to continue to build a church in the Aire Valley, based on the foundation of modern day apostles and prophets, under the leadership of local elders, with Jesus Christ as the Chief Cornerstone.

• We aim to reach people with the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ, to affect our communities by doing good and by extending the light of the kingdom of God across this region.

• We aim to disciple men, women and children to full maturity in Christ. We do this by preaching and teaching the Bible, which is the inspired Word of God, by revelation of the Holy Spirit, by mentoring through life relationships and by developing a culture of love and service to each other.

• We aim to meet regularly in smaller locally based groups, in addition to our main gatherings, to be an expression of the church in our neighbourhoods, and to engender deeper relationships.

• We aim to create a platform in our lives and in our gatherings for the Holy Spirit to move amongst us as he desires; to see manifestations of His power in healings, deliverance, transformed lives, spiritual gifts and the fruit of the Spirit.

• We aim to look beyond Airedale Church to the wider Christian community in the region, seeking to prophetically, prayerfully and practically support other congregations and leaders, and to work together to advance the kingdom of God.

• We look forward to the return of Christ, and aim to allow the anticipation of this to affect our everyday life and witness.
